Hope Clothing … formerly known as Community Clothing Centre …

Posted by on Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 in News

We are very pleased to announce that we have received a grant from the Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation that will allow us to relaunch our clothing ministry under "Place of New Hope - Hope Clothing," a ministry hosted by St. Andrew's Hespeler.

Our existing clothing ministry had been run externally by the Community Clothing Centre for many years, but unfortunately that funding expired and the CCC could not continue.  We are excited to take this ministry more directly under our wing now and have many dreams for how this ministry, "Place of New Hope," can better meet the growing needs of our community.  A new supervisory committee is being formed and Karen Kincaid will stay on as the coordinator.

We look forward to officially launching this renewed ministry in church on Sunday, September 13 and in the community on the 15th.

Hope Clothing provides for the clothing needs of all members of your family.  We carry men's, women's, and children's clothing. The purpose of Hope Clothing is to help families and individuals stretch their budget by providing good, clean clothing at no cost.  Other personal items are often available as well.

Everyone is welcome to stop in to check out Hope Clothing.

We are open on:
Tuesdays:  12:00 - 3:00 pm;
Wednesdays: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm;
Thrusdays: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

We also gratefully accept donations of clean, gently used clothing.  Please only bring clothes in that are in good condition; no stains, tears, and in season (we don't have storage facilities).

Summer Sunday School news!

Posted by on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015 in News

I just wanted to let you know that there is full Sunday School this week, June 28th,  and then starting on July 5th we move to our summer schedule.  For the summer there will be no formal Sunday School.  However I have just finished putting together "Busy Boxes".  Inside of these boxes there are lots of choices for our younger members to help them get through worship!  There is one box in the sanctuary and two boxes in the foyer.

For children who need or would like a little more space to move around or just sprawl out the foyer might be the perfect place.  With the exception of July 5th all other Sunday services will be live fed to the foyer. This means that parents can participate in worship while giving your children the extra space they might need.

This will give you two options for summer worshipping.  You are more than welcome to stay in the sanctuary and make use of the materials in the Busy Box (located on a table at the back of the sanctuary) there or you may join worship in the foyer.

For foyer worship:  the Busy Boxes are on the shelf above the coat rack and bibles and hymn books are on the tea cart.

For all Busy Boxes, I just ask that you put everything back in (except for pictures or crafts that were made) and placed back in their spot for use the next Sunday.
